Mrs. Shifflett

Hi, my name is Kris Shifflett.   I have worked in the MSAD49 district since 2006.  I have worked in various aspects of Special Education.  I began as a substitute, and I did this for a year. Then I was accepted for a long term substitute in the Life Skills Program in Clinton.  This turned into a full time Tech I position the following year. I was only at Clinton Elementary for a couple of years.  After that, I transferred to Benton Elementary into the Behavior Program.  This was my biggest challenge.  Seeing, learning and understanding why children behave or respond to situations was heartbreaking.  It was definitely hard not to become attached.  After approximately 7 years, I transferred here, to Albion Elementary.   Now, I am an Ed Tech II, and I work in the Resource Room helping with the Math program, and this year, I have begun to help with the Language Arts aspect as well.  I have been at Albion Elementary since 2014.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family.  We love to travel, spend time in the outdoors fishing, four-wheeling, and I love to watch the New York Yankees play baseball.  I recently began a college adventure.  I wanted to add to my already accumulated credits.  Now, I am attending KVCC for their Early Childhood Program.  This is almost done.  What I have done for courses has allowed me to attain my ED Tech III certificate.

I love working with all of the children.  Watching them grow, both physically and academically, is so fulfilling.  Watching them have an "AH-HA" moment is incredibly rewarding.
